John Parkington consults primarily in the areas of organization architecture, change management, leadership development, culture change, and senior team effectiveness at Mercer Delta Consulting, LLC. Mercer Delta is a management consulting firm which provides services related to the management of strategic level organizational change to major corporations and other institutions. Prior to working at Mercer Delta, Dr. Parkington was Practice Director for Watson Wyatt & Company’s Organization Effectiveness practice. For 15 years at Watson Wyatt, he was accountable for leading interventions for major corporations in the areas of organization development, team and leadership development, and organization measurement. Dr. Parkington earlier served as Vice President at Opinion Research Corporation for 2 years and was Director of Research for GEICO Corporation for 6 years. Prior to his corporate assignments, he spent 6 years as a mental health counselor and educator in the health care industry. Dr. Parkington has consulted to executives in a variety of industries over the years including companies such as Apple Computer, Bank of America, Cisco Systems, Dell Computer, Dynegy, Fidelity Investments, Hewlett-Packard, Mobil Corporation, Nestle, Novartis, Reliant Energy, St. Joseph Health System, Sun Microsystems, Visa International. Dr. Parkington holds a B.A degree from West Virginia University in Psychology and Statistics, an M.A. degree from the University of Maryland in Industrial Organizational Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology and Quantitative Methods from the University of Maryland. In addition, he has completed a leadership development program at Harvard University. Early in his career, Dr. Parkington was also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland and Georgetown University. |
