
Barbara Goretsky
Corporate Director, Leadership Development
Northrop Grumman Corporation
As corporate director, leadership development,
Barbara Goretsky is responsible for developing and executing the corporate
leadership development strategy, with particular emphasis on designing,
developing, and running Northrop Grumman’s core executive development
programs. Additionally, she is chartered with designing corporate leadership
conferences, 360-degree feedback processes, coaching and mentoring
initiatives and various competency models. Barbara works closely with
Northrop Grumman Learning and Development Council to build internal
capability in all areas of learning and development, including coaching,
organizational development, learning technology and delivery.
Barbara has significant HR experience, both
in leadership and organizational development and in HR generalist roles.
After joining TRW in Northern Virginia in 1985, Barbara started the training
and OD function for the Defense Systems Group’s East Coast operations. She
served as Director, Learning and Development for TRW Systems Integration
Group (now Northrop Grumman Mission Systems) during the 1991-1995 and
2000-2002 timeframes, where she designed and implemented several executive
development programs including the current Action Leadership Program for
high potential employees and the Key Performers Program for newly hired key
contributors.
Barbara has also held numerous HR generalist
positions, including HR Director for the TRW Systems Services Co. and most
recently HR Director with the Data Systems Operations in Aurora, Colorado.
Prior to these positions, Barbara worked at the Federal Reserve Board in
Washington, DC in a management development/OD position.
Barbara holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from
Penn State University in Journalism and Communications, and a second
Master’s degree in Human Resources from the American University in
Washington, DC. She is also a graduate of TRW’s HR Executive Programs at
Cornell University and the University of Michigan, and is certified as a
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She also serves on the Board
of Directors for the HR Strategy Forum, a California-based affiliate of the
HR Planning Society. |
