Engaging the Hearts and Minds of Employees: Recent Research and the Boeing Case Study
While companies today have a multitude of initiatives to improve performance and satisfy the workforce, few have the power to transform than employee engagement. Jack Welch, former chairman and CEO of GE, says employee engagement has to come first. “No company, small or large, will perform in the long run without energized employees who believe in its vision and understand what they need to do to achieve it.” In fact, in a recent Business Week column, he says “employee engagement is the best measure of the health of a company.” This presentation is designed to offer you a different perspective of what organizations can do to engage the hearts and minds of employees. Alysa Polkes and Molly Rosen of BlessingWhite Inc. will share with us their engagement model, as well as some of their recent research on the state of employee engagement. They will discuss the connection between the company and the individual and how that relationship can set the tone for employee engagement. Michael Dimeo from Boeing will tell the story of how Boeing was able to leverage employee engagement to make process improvements, as well as other benefits they achieved from having an engaged workforce. |
