Michael has more than 31 years of consulting experience. As the managing consultant for Towers Watson in Southern California Southwest, he is responsible for the firm’s client relationship activities.

His clients have included companies in the aerospace, health care, utilities, construction, media and automotive industries.

Role at Towers Watson

He advises clients on total rewards strategy, benefit strategy, health and welfare plans, employee engagement and retirement plans. In his work with clients, he has conducted a wide variety of assignments, including:

  • A five-year total rewards strategy and implementation to accomplish corporate objects following a series of acquisitions
  • A three-year health care consumerism strategy and implementation to educate the workforce and meet corporate cost objectives
  • The total rewards strategy for a large merger
  • The redesign of medical, dental, and vision plans in conjunction with union negotiations
  • The design and implementation of a new cash balance, 401(k), and profit sharing plan to address changing corporate objectives
  • The development of an executive total reward philosophy
  • The development and implementation of a benefit plan outsourcing strategy.

    He has a B.B.A. in public accounting from Gonzaga University. He is the former president of the Western Pension and Benefits Conference, Los Angeles Chapter, as well as former president of the Orange County Employee Benefit Council.
