Keynote
Setting the Stage
John Boudreau, PhD, USC Marshall School of Business

What is CHREATE, how can it help HR advance our profession to meet the needs of the future, and what is our role in bringing that vision to life? 

John will describe the history and the high-level work and outcomes of the CHREATE project, and a summary of the CHREATE movement’s collective vision of how HR must disruptively accelerate to meet its future opportunities and challenges.  He’ll provide the context for the tools and frameworks that we’ll use in the session.  John will also describe his ongoing work on the future of the HR profession, including soon-to-be published findings from the latest survey of global HR leaders with Edward Lawler, a framework for understanding and optimizing the combination of human and automated work from his forthcoming book with Ravin Jesuthasan, and lessons on the evolution of HR analytics from the broader evolution of advanced technology and analytics.

Working Session 1:
CHREATE: Forces of Change, Organization Assessment

In this highly engaging Learning Map® experience, we will be exploring trends that are shaping the future of work, and assessing the impact of the changes on our own organizations.  We will then create unique action plans to address the forces of change, and to lead our respective organizations through the transformation required to remain competitive in the new reality. 

 

The tools we use in this session were developed by the Global Consortium to Reimagine HR, Employment Alternatives, Talent, and the Enterprise (CHREATE), the collaborative effort of a group of creative CHROs, academics, and other thought leaders focused on defining – and accelerating – the future of the HR profession. 

 

Working Session 2
Future Talent Pipeline and New Roles

In this working session, you will be introduced to four new roles HR needs to cultivate for the future and the capabilities the organization will need to win in the new world of work. With an understanding of the new roles and capabilities for the future, each participant will complete their own Organization Capability Assessment to identify where they are in the development of the capabilities needed for the future.  The assessment will prepare attendees to create an organization development plan to close the most critical gaps.
